Fort of Jaisalmer

Constructed during 12th century on Trikuta hills, it is the largest and massive fort of this state. Overall height of the fort is somewhere around 250 ft and there is a very famous Jain temple within the fort. You must pay a visit to this temple while exploring the magnificent fort. After looking at this fort, you can understand why it is known as a Golden city. Main attractions within the fort include Raj Mahal and Laxminath temple.

Jain Temples

Jaisalmer comprises a wide number of its population with Jains. Beautifully carved and ornate temples of this city are purely dedicated to the Jain Tirthankars. Apart from temples, there are also many other things of interest related to Jain tradition over here like rare manuscripts or the artifacts.

Gadsisar sagar tank

Another astonishing tourist attraction of Jaisalmer is Gadsisar sagar Tank. It is a great place to enjoy time with your family. Visiting this place during winters is a wonderful experience as you can find several migratory birds over here.

Havelis in Jaisalmer

Havelis is this city is built by the rich merchants to exhibit the artwork and sculpture of Rajasthan. Most of the creations are made out of red and yellow sandstones with decorative peacock designs all over it. Few Havelis which are worth a visit over here include Patwon-ki-haveli, Nathmalji-ki-haveli and Salim singh- ki-haveli.

Desert National park

This is the biggest National park of India which is situated very close to Jaisalmer. Spread across the area of 3100 sq km, this area is very popular for its rich flora and fauna.
